Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Relating to hire Items These terms and conditions together with the customer order form, confirmation of order form create a contract between us “the Company” and you “the Customer”. No verbal representations by either party shall form any part of this contract.

GENERAL

The items hired will not be used for subletting and will be set up and returned to Special Events MK within the agreed time and dates arranged. If this is not agreed to the damage deposit paid will not be refunded

Payment & Prices 

DEPOSIT – All Deposits for hire items paid to Special Events MK are on a non Refundable basis.

BALANCE - This is payable in cleared funds no later than 30 days prior to the event. . If this is not paid Special Events MK has the right to cancel any bookings held and no refund will be given. 

·NON-PAYMENT OF BALANCE - In the event that you the Customer fail to pay the balance due on the due date, the Company (at its discretion) reserves the right to take such action as appropriate to recover all or any of the balance then due and the Customer shall pay all costs incurred as a result of non-payment.

PRICES - The Company reserves the right to alter prices and the availability of products accepting that once the deposit has been paid the price is fixed. Prices for hire items are a daily rate. If you require to hire items more than a day in advance this will be charged at the daily rate. ·

VAT – Special Events MK is not a VAT registered company therefore no VAT number will be given on any invoice.

Cancellation - If cancellation occurs no later than 60 days prior to the event the Customer shall pay a cancellation fee equal to 25% of the total amount due. ·If cancellation occurs no later than 30 days prior to the event the Customer shall pay a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the total amount due. ·No cancellation shall be accepted unless given in writing to the Company.

Our Responsibilities - To deliver or arrange delivery by third parties of the hired items ordered by the customer on the day requested and in the quantity and style ordered by the customer. Every effort will be made to ensure that the hired goods arrive safely and on time but the Company can not accept responsibility for late delivery for reasons beyond the control of the Company. ·The items required will be of sufficient quality and standard for normal usage. ·To provide the ordered items laundered to the highest standard and included in the cost of hire is the cost of standard laundering of returned items. ·To provide (if so ordered) a standard service which includes the Company or its agent to deliver the items required to the event on the day and time ordered by the Customer, to assemble the chair covers, sashes, and accessories, and arrange for collection after the event. 

Your Responsibilities - To ensure we the Company have full and accurate details of the number, type, and style of covers, sashes, and accessories at least 30 days prior to the event date. If incorrect details are provided the Customer

shall be responsible for any extra cost incurred by the Company. ·To ensure that you the Customer have ordered items that are entirely appropriate and fit the chairs onto which they will be fitted by providing an example of the chairs to be fitted. ·To pay for all and any damage to any hired items that are not returned in the condition that they were delivered, expecting normal staining from food and drinks. ·To ensure all hired items are ready for collection on the agreed return date and to pay any extra costs that may arise should the hired items not be ready for collection on the agreed return date. ·To have in place appropriate insurance cover for theft, damage, and public liability risks.

Liability - The Company accepts no liability whatsoever for injury or damage to persons or property whatsoever sustained arising from any items under hire. ·Your statutory rights are unaffected 

Insurance - It is your responsibility to ensure that the hired items are held in a venue or premises which has insurance with regard to public liability risks. Special Events MK will not be liable with respect to any claims made by any persons for the death, personal injury, or damage caused by or in conjunction with the hired items from Special Events MK including fitting services. 

Ownership - Goods at all times remain the property of Special Events MK. Access It is your responsibility to ensure that any chairs being covered on the day are set up and ready for fitting by the venue staff at the agreed access time. We will not unstack venue chairs etc due to public liability insurance policies.

We reserve the right to not dress or cater for any extra chairs or hire items which we are not informed to do prior to the hire date. If we are required to supply extra items than originally booked we have the right to charge for this work or take this from the damage deposit we hold.

Damage - Standard laundering of hired items is included in the price quoted. This includes removable light stains from food and drink and light scuff marks from shoes. However, if upon inspection after your event we find that irreversible damage has been caused to our hired items, for example, rips, footprints, drawings, cigarette burns, candle wax excessive stains, scratches, etc. then this will result in damaged goods being charged at full replacement value. Charges will be made on a “per item” basis. 

Shortage - You are responsible for the safekeeping of all hired items from collection through to return to us, Special Events MK. Upon collection/receipt of goods after hire, if any hired items are missing then we will inform you within 7 days. If the missing items are returned within 7 days after the event no charges will be applied. Failure to return the missing items will result in the full replacement fees being charged. 

Collection - We will collect the hired item in the days after the event has taken place from the event location or from a location that has been confirmed in advance. Goods must be ready and available for collection at the agreed time. Any failed collections will be charged for accordingly at a daily hire rate.

Returns - If agreed that you will return the hired items, all items must be received at the agreed location by 5pm 2 days after the event unless otherwise stated in writing. Late returns will be charged at £25.00 per day. 

Marketing Emails -Marketing emails refer to any promotional email communication. The information transmitted in these emails is intended only for the person(s) or entity to which it is addressed and may contain proprietary, confidential and/or privileged material. If you have received an email in error please contact the sender. Although the emails and any attachments are believed to be free of any virus it is the responsibility of the recipient to ensure that they are virus-free and no responsibility is accepted by the sender for any loss or damage arising in any way from the receipt or use thereof. Errors and omissions are expected. Images are used for illustrative purposes only. Prices valid for the indicated time period only. 

Website - Our website is owned by Special Events MK and complies with the Data Protection Act relating to the personal information you supply online. Any personal information that you provide to Special Events MK whilst contracting with these entities is stored and controlled by Special Events MK. By using our services you give us your express consent to process your personal data as described hereafter. 

Rights Reserved - Any failure by us to enforce any or all of these conditions shall not amount to or be interpreted as a waiver of any of our rights.

We reserve the right to cancel any electrical equipment hired if it is to be used outside and the weather is poor. In these circumstances, we will issue a full refund.
